So today I FINALLY got to try McDonald’s much anticipated vegan burger – The McPlant in McDonald’s Cardiff Bay.

It’s a vegan burger made with a juicy plant-based patty co-developed with Beyond Meat® featuring vegan sandwich sauce, ketchup, mustard, onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and a vegan alternative to cheese in a sesame seed bun. It’s even Vegan certified!
I have been lookin forward to trying this thing for such a long time and couldn’t understand why the fast food giant was dragging its feet. Now I completely understand because it is quite possibly the nicest vegan burger I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been vegan for over 3 years now and was very impressed indeed.

So, what’s in it? A top secret vegan patty made in collaboration with Beyond Meat, a sesame seed bun, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, Vegan American style slice od cheese made of pea protein and special vegan burger sauce.
Though I’m a rubbish vegan and just had the burger with bun lettuce and cheese.

The result was close to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. It was a sheer delight to eat.
You can have it on it’s own, as just a burger or as a meal with a drink and side – I had fries and a sugar free Sprite.
My rating is: 8/10.
Well worth the wait and highly recommended.
Thanks for reading and here’s to hope you all get to try it and enjoy!
