Cobra Kai Season 4 is here and we loved it!

Having been a fan Cobra Kai since it first premiered on YouTube Red – YouTube’s premium subscription streaming service, back in May 2018. I have been hooked, I loved the original Karate kid movies but the series has far surpassed what I ever expected.

After the two year wait for season 3 to come to Netflix after they bought it from YouTube red. Its popularity soared when the first two series came to Netflix. Pretty soon, the world was hit with Cobra Kai fever and widespread critical acclaim.

Now season 4 has arrived, I’d better fill you all in a little bit with what’s happened so far.

Thirty four years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso. This escalates thought with a big Karate war breaking out though the Valley and the return of sensei Kreese and a few other femilar faces from the movies.

Season 4 kicks off in high gear from the get go with Daniel & Lawrence teaming up their dojos to take on the evergrowing threat from Cobra Kai. Tensions run high as both contradicting Karate and teaching styles clash over their views.

I feel the series of the characters have grown and become more complicated individuals. The relationship between Johnny and Daniel, the fall out that has spilled out to everyone in their lives and the rivalry that has take over the Valley.

Also the return of a the main villain from the 3rd movie, Terry Silver played by the original actor Thomas Ian Griffiths brings a whole new dynamic to the Cobra Kai dojo and really changes up the game.

I don’t want to give away any of the story but just want to say that Eli Moskowitz/Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) delivers some fantastic acting and great character work on him this season, I really related to him throughout the series, I think out of all the characters, his showed the most growth.

Weapon Kata time

The run-up to the big all Valley tournament is very intense. With many twists and turns, the return of characters and the final showdown was extremely exciting. I fully recommend to anyone to watch this show as it is by far one of the best show I have watched in years.

ENJOY!
